Last week at a conference in Bihar, India, Georgia State University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) in the presence of the state’s chief secretary Brijesh Mehrotrato. The MOU intends to promote collaborative studies on public policy.
Representing Georgia State, Charles Hankla, associate director of the Public Finance Research Cluster’s International Center for Public Policy, discussed electoral accountability and fiscal accountability in Peru. Hankla noted that the scale of funding on public services by elected representatives influences their electoral accountability that gets manifested by voters in the form of recalls and reelections.
Overall, management experts and social scientists at the Bihar conference presented innovative research on various aspects of policy and service delivery challenges in poverty alleviation, education, and health in India and across the world.
