These locations, in partnership with the Mandela Washington Fellowship, provide the fellows with learning and community service opportunities in and around the city of Atlanta.

The Walter Young YMCA is a center that provides wellness for families and individuals by providing the community with opportunities by providing pool facilities, gym coaches, and group fitness activities such as pilates and yoga. Having a wide range of activities for adults as well as youth groups, from baseball to preschool classes, the YMCA community is an active group supporting families.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the leading national public health institute of the United States. The CDC is a federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services and is headquartered in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, a few miles northeast of the Atlanta.
CNN is among the world’s leaders in online news and information delivery. Staffed 24 hours, seven days a week by a dedicated staff in CNN’s world headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and in bureaus worldwide, relies heavily on CNN’s global team of almost 4,000 news professionals. features the latest multimedia technologies, from live video streaming to audio packages to searchable archives of news features and background information. The site is updated continuously throughout the day.
Coca Cola Headquarters
Coca-Cola was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1886 and has now grown into one of the most recognized brands in the world. As one of the most iconic brands, the Coca-Cola Company is a sponsor is many events from sports through a number of charities. There are more than 1.7 billion Coca-Cola products sold every day. They have involved themselves in times of disaster such as in Haiti, in 2010 when they initiated the Haiti Hope Project, which planned to create a sustainable mango industry in Haiti. In 2011 the company celebrated it 125 year anniversary, continuing the success of such an enduring, iconic brand.

City of Atlanta Office of Innovation, Delivery, and Performance
The Mayor’s Office of Innovation Delivery and Performance is charged with driving meaningful progress and tangible results on the Administration’s top priorities in partnership with City operating departments and external partners. The Office houses the Innovation Delivery Team and Focus On Results (FOR) Atlanta program. The Innovation Delivery Team is a special projects team that drives progress on the Mayor’s top-priority challenges by working collaboratively with staff and partners to identify the best ideas, prioritize them by feasibility and impact, structure implementation plans, and secure the resources and support necessary for successful delivery. The Innovation Delivery Team was initially formed through a grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies. In the past, the Team has worked on reducing homelessness, including connecting over 1,000 of Atlanta’s most vulnerable homeless citizens to permanent housing, and improving customer service, including launching ATL311.

During these difficult financial times, DeKalb County is focused on providing the best level of service to our residents and businesses while maintaining a balanced budget and efficient government.  The county’s mission is to make the priorities of the citizens of DeKalb County; the priorities of county government – by achieving a safer DeKalb, building stronger neighborhoods, creating a fiscally accountable and more efficient county government, and uniting the citizens of DeKalb County.  With this in mind, the county will engage in a strategic planning process called FOCUSS (fiscal accountability, opportunity, community, unity, safety and sustainability) DeKalb.

The mission of Global Growers Network (GG) is to increase the number of food producers who create access to healthy, sustainable-grown food and also to prepare farmers to be competitive in their local marketplace. Global Growers is an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, GA.  Global Growers grew out of the tremendous demand among international farmers, many who came to Atlanta as refugees of war, to reconnect to their agricultural heritage in their new home. Recognizing this exceptional talent, Global Growers connects local families to land, education, and markets in order to build healthier communities and strengthen our local economy. We are committed to cultivating diverse farmers who are traditionally under served by mainstream agricultural service providers.

Goshen Valley Boys Ranch the flagship program of the Goshen Valley Foundation. It is a home for 40 young men, ages 11-18, living in the Georgia state foster care system. Goshen Valley is a family-based model of care. There are 6 homes, and a full-time house parent couple cares for each young man who comes to the Ranch. Young men are surrounded with love and care through intentional relationships and programs that focus on hope and healing.
The Governor's Office of Planning and BudgetThe Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget
The Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) exists to serve the Governor and the state in innumerous ways. The office works with the Governor to develop the state’s strategic plan, provide research and analysis, and regulatory services. Additionally, OPB supplys official demographic and statistical data about the state of Georgia.
MedShare is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare and the environment through the efficient recovery and redistribution of the surplus of medical supplies and equipment to those most in need. The organization collects surplus medical supplies and equipment from hospitals, distributors and manufacturers, and then redistributes it to qualified healthcare facilities in the developing world. MedShare also outfits medical missions and safety net clinics in both the U.S. and abroad.

MLK Center

The Martin Luther King Center was first established in 1968 by Mrs. Coretta Scott King, and has since been a go-to destination in the United States, as there are nearly a million attendants to the historic site to learn, as well as pay respect to Dr. King and the Civil Rights legacy he stood for. With their goals to educate the global community of civil and human rights as we step further into the 21st century, using Dr. King’s words as a beacon of hope.

Newton County is made up of parts of Henry, Jasper and Walton counties and dates to 1821. Its name honors Sergeant John Newton, a companion of the Revolutionary War hero William Jasper. Covington, the county seat, is named for Patriot General Leonard Covington. Newton was the first county in the United States to give public school students free transportation, the idea of School Commissioner G. C. Adams in 1893.

The Task Force for Global Health is an independent, nonprofit organization based in Decatur, Ga., USA, with field offices in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Guatemala City, Guatemala. Since 2013, they have been ranked among the five largest nonprofit organizations in the United States by Forbes, due to significant in-kind contributions of medicines from pharmaceutical companies.The Task Force consists of eight programs and five projects focused on neglected tropical diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, and health systems strengthening.
